Topophilia, the emotional bond between person and place, became the foundation of this film. When Kushan brought me the song, along with a memory of a quiet night in the Netherlands, it felt less like a story and more like a feeling. Beneath a blue moon, surrounded by stillness, he encountered a woman who seemed inseparable from the landscape itself, and without words, something passed between them. By dawn, both the place and the moment had to be left behind, leaving only the feeling he later translated into music. I began to see this woman not as real, but as a manifestation of the love he felt for that place, a fleeting embodiment of something he could never take with him. Under the Moonflower explores this idea, where their souls drift together under the moonlight, suspended in a dreamlike state. The title reflects both the literal and the psychological, to be beneath the moon, and to be under the influence of something intangible, where memory, place, and emotion dissolve into one.
