The Gramophone was the first film I created, made for the Screenmasters Short Film Competition by Chokolaate Magazine in collaboration with Raffles University, where it went on to win Best Picture. Shot and edited entirely on a phone, lit only with household lamps and bulbs, the film was created with a budget of zero, driven purely by instinct and necessity. The story follows a cursed gramophone that mysteriously appears in a girl’s home, slowly revealing the origin of its curse and the reason it chooses her.
